Subscription and bill tracker apps for iPhone, compared

Most of these apps are good, several are cheaper than Forseera, and a couple have been around for a decade. If you have ever typed every bill into one and then hit a paywall at the fifth, or paid and still not known what you could safely spend before payday, this page is for you. Here is what each one costs, where its free tier stops, and whether each one can tell you what is safe to spend.

How to read this

Every price below came from the app's own App Store listing on the date in the sources, including the in-app purchase list, which is where most of these apps keep their real price. Ratings are US counts. We read the most recent couple of hundred reviews of the three biggest ones, so the "what reviewers say" lines are their words, not ours.

We make Forseera, so read our column with that in mind. We have tried to lose points where we lose them.

Price, free cap, and what each one organizes around

App Store listings read October 20, 2026. Billbot is left out: it has not been updated since December 2020.

What they have in common, and where Forseera sits

  • None of them link a bank. That is a feature for some people and a dealbreaker for others, and the reviews split both ways. Forseera offers linking as an option, read-only through Plaid, with manual entry as the default.
  • Most stop at five. Bobby, Bills Organizer, and What's Due cap the free tier at five items; Orbit lower. The sharpest reviews across all of them are about discovering the cap after typing everything in. Forseera has no cap and no free tier; it has a 7-day trial with the price shown first.
  • BillOut and Forseera think in paychecks. BillOut shows a total between two salaries. Forseera groups every bill under the paycheck that covers it, on Home and the Timeline. Chronicle's reviewers describe sitting down every payday to use an app that does not know what a payday is.
  • Several are cheaper. Bobby, BillOut, Touchbits, and Bills Organizer are a one-time few dollars. If a reminder list is all you want and you will maintain it, pay less and pick one of those.

I wish you could put in your pay day and put in how much money you make and see what's coming in and going out.

Questions people ask

Which subscription tracker works without a bank login?

All of the apps on this page do, including Forseera. Forseera is the one that also offers an optional read-only bank link through Plaid for people who want amounts and dates filled in.

Which bill tracker shows bills by paycheck?

Forseera groups bills by pay period on every screen. BillOut shows a total between two salaries. Chronicle and What's Due show income next to bills without grouping by pay period.

What is the cheapest subscription tracker for iPhone?

Bobby, BillOut, Touchbits Subscriptions, and Bills Organizer & Reminder each unlock for a one-time payment under $10. Forseera is $8.99 a month or $69.99 a year and does more than track subscriptions.

Why do free subscription trackers stop at five?

Five is where most of them put the paywall. Reviewers' sharpest complaints are about hitting that wall after entering everything. Forseera has no free tier and no cap; it shows the price before you add a bill and gives you seven days with everything on.

If you only ever wanted to know what's left before payday.

Forseera shows what's left after the bills coming next, so the answer is a number. Seven days free.
