The short version
- Apple bills you? Cancel in your iPhone's Settings: tap your name, then Subscriptions, then Rocket Money.
- Google Play bills you? Cancel in Google Play, under Subscriptions.
- You pay Rocket Money directly? In the app, open Settings, then Membership, then Manage Membership. Slide the price to $0 a month and tap Cancel Subscription.
- On Premium+? Rocket Money's help center sends you to its support team.
- Done with Rocket Money for good? Cancel Premium, stop any bill negotiation, and close any savings goal first. Then delete the account from Settings, then Profile.
- Deleting the app cancels none of these.
First, find out who charges you
Rocket Money Premium can be billed three ways: by Apple, by Google Play, or by Rocket Money itself, usually from a checking account you linked. The way out is wherever you pay, so start there.
On an iPhone, open Settings, tap your name, then Subscriptions. If Rocket Money is in that list, Apple bills you. On Android, open Google Play and look under Subscriptions. If it is in neither place, you pay Rocket Money directly.
Deleting the app does not cancel anything. Google says so outright for its subscriptions, and Rocket Money's terms say its own charges stop when you cancel Premium or close the account.
Cancel Rocket Money Premium in the app or on the website
If you pay Rocket Money directly, cancelling happens on the same slider you used to choose your price. Move it all the way to $0 a month, then tap Cancel Subscription.
In the app
- Tap the Settings gear at the top left.
- Tap Membership.
- Tap Manage Membership.
- Move the price slider all the way left, to $0 a month.
- Tap Cancel Subscription and follow the prompts.
On rocketmoney.com
- Click the Settings gear on the left.
- Click Membership.
- Click Manage at the top right.
- Move the price slider all the way left, to $0 a month.
- Click Cancel Subscription and complete the prompts.
Premium stays on until the end of the billing period you have paid for. Cancelling does not delete your account, and a bill negotiation already under way keeps going. Rocket Money keeps sending notifications and emails until you turn them off in its alert settings.
If a billing date is close, cancel at least three business days before it. That is the notice Rocket Money's terms ask for to stop the next debit, and they say it may not catch one requested later.
Cancel Rocket Money on iPhone, if Apple bills you
Apple handles these, so the steps are Apple's.
- Open Settings and tap your name.
- Tap Subscriptions.
- Tap Rocket Money.
- Tap Cancel Subscription. You may need to scroll down to find it.
If there is no Cancel button, or you see an expiration message in red, it is already cancelled. From a computer, you can do the same at account.apple.com.
On the 7-day Premium trial? Apple asks you to cancel at least 24 hours before a trial ends if you don't want it to renew.
Cancel Rocket Money on Android, if Google Play bills you
Rocket Money says it cannot cancel Google Play charges for its members, so these steps are Google's.
- Open Google Play and check you are signed in to the right Google account.
- Tap your profile, then Payments & subscriptions, and open your subscriptions.
- Tap Rocket Money.
- Tap Cancel subscription and follow the instructions.
From a computer, go to play.google.com, open Subscriptions, click Manage next to Rocket Money, then Cancel subscription. Uninstalling does not cancel it. You keep Premium for the time you have already paid for.
Leaving Premium+
Premium+ is Rocket Money's top tier, $15 a month plus tax, with its Rowan assistant, bill negotiation without a success fee, and access to apply for a high-yield savings account. Its help center does not list self-serve steps for leaving it. Its Premium+ article says to contact support to move back to Premium, so that is the dependable way out: the in-app chat, or support@rocketmoney.com. If Premium+ shows in your iPhone's Subscriptions list, you can cancel it there instead.
Rocket Money's terms say a downgrade takes effect at the end of your billing period, and Premium+ stays on until then.
If you opened the high-yield savings account, it stays open when you leave Premium+, but it stops earning interest, and on the free tier you can only withdraw. To close it, open the account in the app, tap the ••• menu, then Close Account. Any balance goes back to your linked bank, which can take up to five business days.
Stop a bill negotiation, and what you may still owe
Cancelling Premium does not stop a bill negotiation. If one is in progress and you want out, ask before it finishes, through the in-app chat or at negotiations@rocketmoney.com. Once a negotiation succeeds, its fee is due.
Before November 2, 2026, a successful negotiation costs a one-time fee of 35 to 60% of the first year's savings, at a percentage you pick. The fee is not refundable once charged, unless an error was made in the negotiation. A negotiation that is in progress or on a payment plan on November 2 keeps the fee you agreed to. From that date, new negotiations need Premium+ and carry no success fee, and automatic renegotiations stop.
If you later cancel the service Rocket Money negotiated, say your internet, tell Rocket Money in writing within 30 days. Its terms give you a pro-rata credit for the rest of that month.
Disconnect your banks from Rocket Money
Unlinking a bank removes everything Rocket Money had from it: transaction history, categories and edits, alerts, and any subscription cancellation still in progress for that account. It cannot be recovered if you link again. Unlinking does not cancel Premium.
In the app
- Tap the Settings gear at the top left.
- Tap Linked Accounts.
- Tap Unlink next to the bank.
- Tap Unlink My Account to confirm.
On rocketmoney.com
- Click the Settings gear in the left sidebar.
- Click Linked Accounts.
- Click the ••• next to the account and choose Unlink.
- Click Yes, unlink.
Rocket Money connects banks through Plaid. To close the connection on Plaid's side too, sign in to the Plaid Portal at my.plaid.com, select Rocket Money on the Overview tab, then Manage connections, then Disconnect app. Plaid notes that this stops future sharing and does not delete what the app already has.
Delete your Rocket Money account
Deleting is permanent and erases all of your Rocket Money data. Rocket Money asks you to do three things first: cancel Premium wherever you pay for it, cancel any active bill negotiation, and close any financial goal. Deleting does not touch a Rocket Mortgage or other Rocket account.
To close a financial goal, use the app: on the Dashboard, open Savings, tap the goal, tap •••, choose Edit Goal, and tap Delete Goal at the bottom. What is left in it returns to your checking account in one to two business days.
In the app
- Tap the Settings gear at the top left.
- Tap Profile.
- Scroll to the bottom.
- Tap Delete My Account, then Yes, I'm Sure.
On rocketmoney.com
- Click the Settings gear in the left sidebar.
- Click Profile.
- Scroll to the bottom.
- Click Delete Rocket Money Account, then click it again to confirm.
What happens to your data
When you delete the account, your login stops working right away. Rocket Money's terms say your data is removed within 48 hours, subject to its privacy policy, and its FAQ says all associated data is deleted with the account.
If you want your transaction history, download it before Premium ends. Data export is a Premium feature.
You can also ask Rocket Money what it holds about you, or ask for it to be deleted, through the privacy request form linked from its help article on privacy rights.
Getting a refund
- Apple billed you: sign in at reportaproblem.apple.com, choose "I'd like to", then "Request a refund", pick a reason and the Rocket Money charge, and submit. Apple says to expect an update in 24 to 48 hours.
- Google Play billed you: Google says the app's developer is often the quickest route to a refund, so ask Rocket Money first, then Google Play.
- You paid Rocket Money directly: we could not find a published refund policy for Premium. Rocket Money's help center does mention refund requests for Premium+, so ask through the in-app chat or support@rocketmoney.com. Its support hours are 9am to 8pm Eastern, Monday to Friday.
- A service Rocket Money cancelled for you charged you anyway: email cancellations@rocketmoney.com, or reply to the confirmation email Rocket Money sent when it cancelled.
If you only wanted the bills handled
Some people leave Rocket Money because they wanted less of it: no budget to keep, no dashboard to check, just the bills and a heads-up before each one. That is what Forseera does, and all it does.
You type your bills in, or link a bank through Plaid if you want amounts filled in. The link is optional and read-only, and we never move money. Forseera does not cancel subscriptions or negotiate bills. It is iPhone only, $8.99 a month or $69.99 a year after a 7-day free trial, and you cancel it in your iPhone's Settings like any App Store subscription. If you ever do, your bills stay saved.

Questions people ask
How do I cancel Rocket Money?
Cancel wherever you pay. If Apple bills you, go to iPhone Settings, your name, Subscriptions. If Google Play bills you, go to Subscriptions in Google Play. If you pay Rocket Money directly, open Settings, Membership, Manage Membership in its app, slide the price to $0 a month, and tap Cancel Subscription.
How do I cancel Rocket Money Premium but keep the free app?
Cancel Premium and stop there. Cancelling Premium does not delete your account, so the free version keeps working after your paid period ends.
How do I cancel Rocket Money Premium+?
Contact Rocket Money support through the in-app chat or at support@rocketmoney.com, because its help center does not list self-serve steps. If Premium+ is in your iPhone's Subscriptions list, cancel it there. The change takes effect at the end of your billing period.
How do I cancel the Rocket Money free trial?
The same way as Premium, before the 7 days are up. If you don't, the trial becomes a monthly subscription at the price you chose. Through Apple, cancel at least 24 hours before the trial ends.
Does deleting the Rocket Money app cancel my subscription?
No. Deleting the app stops nothing. Cancel Premium through Apple, Google Play, or Rocket Money's Membership settings, depending on who bills you.
Will Rocket Money charge me after I cancel?
Not for a new period. Premium stays on until the end of the period you already paid for, then stops. If you pay Rocket Money directly, cancel at least three business days before your next billing date, the notice its terms ask for. A bill negotiation fee can still come due if a negotiation you started succeeds.
Can I get a refund from Rocket Money?
It depends on who billed you. Apple handles its refunds at reportaproblem.apple.com, and Google Play handles its own. If you paid Rocket Money directly, ask its support; we could not find a published refund policy for Premium. Bill negotiation fees are not refundable once charged, unless an error was made in the negotiation.
Can I pay less for Rocket Money instead of cancelling?
Yes, if you pay Rocket Money directly. Premium is priced on a sliding scale you choose; Rocket Money calls it "pay what you think is fair" and says it typically runs $7 to $14 a month. In the app, open Settings, Membership, then Change Monthly Fee under Manage Membership, set the slider, and tap Update Subscription.
Does Rocket Money cancel subscriptions for you?
On Premium, yes. Open the Recurring tab, tap ••• next to a subscription, choose Cancel, then Cancel This For Me. Most finish within a few business days. It cannot cancel subscriptions billed through Apple or Google Play; you cancel those in their own settings.
What happens to my data when I delete Rocket Money?
It is erased. Your login stops working immediately, and Rocket Money's terms say the data is removed within 48 hours. Unlinking a single bank also deletes that bank's history from Rocket Money for good.
What happens to a partner I shared Rocket Money with?
If you sent the invite and you cancel Premium, your partner loses Premium too.
You don't need a second hobby.
Forseera keeps your bills and gives you a heads-up before each one is due. Seven days free, then $8.99 a month or $69.99 a year.
